Matt’s Profile

Hi. My name is Matt. I’m 36 years old, A Husband, Dad, Son. I am seeking and trying to live out what it means to be a Christian and follow The Jesus Way in Today’s world. I love learning, conversation, good food, music and many other things. I love where I live and most of all I love my amazing family and am thankful for them and the many things I have in life.

I work for Tearfund in the IMPACT UK team. We work with UK Partners and networks to address and tackle poverty in the UK.

Until August 2012 I worked for Tearfund’s Transform Programme that enables people to volunteer and work with Tearfund’s overseas partners. This year Transform is celebrating its 40th Birthday.

I’m taking this ‘Journey’ as a personal pilgrimage in recognition of my need and desire to learn and grow in the outworking of my faith in everyday life. Its also in respect for what has been modelled and taught to me by fellow travellers and hosts over the years. I love exploring and learning and hope these themed journeys produce some good fruit and outcomes.

All in all I am taking 9 themed journeys over the year, each lasting for 40 days. So far I’ve explored creativity, simplicity, humility, generosity and contemplation. I hope to also explore courageousness, hospitality and gratitude before ending in celebration!
